All the boys have looked at creating a logo for our 2020 Exhibition. We had winners from both classrooms going head to head in a final vote off on Tuesday. Well done to all the boys who put in a fair bit of dedication and creativity to create the logos this year. The logos of the finalists are listed below.

At the start of Exhibition, we always go through what it actually is and what it actually isn't. This gives the boys a further understanding of the Exhibition process itself. Also considering that we have a number of new boys who have never been to a PYP school before, this helps them understand all the elements of Exhibition.
Excitement is building as the boys near the start of their PYP Exhibition.
The teachers are extremely excited with some exciting things happening from our guest speakers in the next two weeks. Not long until we start on Tuesday 25th! The boys have now been given the brief to create a logo for the PYP Exhibition. The boys need to include the following words;
How the World Works: An inquiry into the natural world and its laws; the interaction between the natural world (physical and biological) and human societies; how humans use their understanding of scientific principles; the impact of scientific and technological advances on society and on the environment. And then figure out a logo to go alongside this. The boys finally need to choose a program to create the logo (whether digital or by hand) and submit to their respective teacher. The logo will go on our LibGuide and all formal communication going forward. On Monday, parents were informed about the Exhibition. Attached are the slides. We are now well into exhibition at week 4. We started with ideas floating around in our heads but we've now got our ideas thanks to our three guest speakers, Mr Wells and Mr Norman, who helped develop our burning questions. As the exhibition is getting closer and closer to the end it is making us even more responsible. And as the end looms larger, so does our understanding of our topic of choice. Even though the parents really want to help it is FORBIDDEN, the reason why they to help us is because they want us to do very well. By the Andrew and Jack.
Over the period of over 4 weeks we’ve done a lot of work on the PYP exhibition. Now in week 7 we are done with the tuning in stage and we are halfway through the finding out stage. Many of my peers have done a lot of work from note taking to organising. A few guest speakers have come in to speak to us : Harold Yap, Marcus Ashby and Michael Lovegrove. We learnt how to use the Cornell method to note take their presentations. Most of my class have finished their burning question and are now researching their topics of interest. It’s been very enjoyable so far, and many boys think that this year's exhibition is going to be the best exhibition!
Our central idea is “As technology advances so does its impact”. “Exhibition has been great so far!” said one of my friends. Exhibition is like a mesmerising Rubik’s cube opening a pathway at every step and at the end realising that its almost finished but there is more to do. Congratulations to all the boys who created a logo for the competition. Our runners up were Brendan (5C) and James (5W) and to our winner, Johntie (5L). Fantastic creative ideas came through from all the entries. We are delighted to use Johntie's logo on our posters, invitations and website.
