We are now well into exhibition at week 4. We started with ideas floating around in our heads but we've now got our ideas thanks to our three guest speakers, Mr Wells and Mr Norman, who helped develop our burning questions. As the exhibition is getting closer and closer to the end it is making us even more responsible. And as the end looms larger, so does our understanding of our topic of choice. Even though the parents really want to help it is FORBIDDEN, the reason why they to help us is because they want us to do very well. By the Andrew and Jack.

Over the period of over 4 weeks we’ve done a lot of work on the PYP exhibition. Now in week 7 we are done with the tuning in stage and we are halfway through the finding out stage. Many of my peers have done a lot of work from note taking to organising. A few guest speakers have come in to speak to us : Harold Yap, Marcus Ashby and Michael Lovegrove. We learnt how to use the Cornell method to note take their presentations. Most of my class have finished their burning question and are now researching their topics of interest. It’s been very enjoyable so far, and many boys think that this year's exhibition is going to be the best exhibition!
Our central idea is “As technology advances so does its impact”. “Exhibition has been great so far!” said one of my friends. Exhibition is like a mesmerising Rubik’s cube opening a pathway at every step and at the end realising that its almost finished but there is more to do. Congratulations to all the boys who created a logo for the competition. Our runners up were Brendan (5C) and James (5W) and to our winner, Johntie (5L). Fantastic creative ideas came through from all the entries. We are delighted to use Johntie's logo on our posters, invitations and website.
The boys have been introduced to the assessment task and rubric related to the Exhibition process. This is split into three seperate sections: the journal; the report and the statement piece. Each of the key areas contribute to the boys' overall assessment. Each section is broken down into manageable parts so that the boys can ensure they are on-track throughout the process. |
